From
Mexico City Airport to Cuernavaca
(La Selva Bus Depot)
After
arriving to Mexico-City airport.
Claim your baggage and pass through the customs area of the airport.
If you do not yet have pesos, you may
obtain them by using your debit or credit card at one of the ATM machines. (Look
for them behind all the people who are waiting for arriving international
passengers.) Or, you may exchange money (or Traveler's Checks) at one of the
many manned booths you will find in this same area.
We suggest you chose to have an Airport Porter assist you with your luggage,
tell him: "Autobus a Cuernavaca" and he'll deliver you and your bags (20-30
pesos is a minimum tip) to the ticket booth for you to purchase your passage to
Cuernavaca. The person on the right side of this booth sells the tickets to
Cuernavaca. Just say: " a Cuernavaca, casino de la selva". The current price is
125 pesos and buses to
Cuernavaca leave approximately every 40 minutes.
The cashier will show you a computer screen to select your seat from the still
available spaces. A seat close to the front of the bus will give you an excellent view while
driving through the mountains. The very back of the bus is a smoking section.
Before leaving the booth, make certain that the cashier gives you your correct
change.
After you or your Airport Porter give your bags to the attendant standing near
the bus that says Pullman de Morelos, the attendant
will give you a ticket/receipt and load your suitcase(s) in the luggage
compartment. (Tip is optional: 5-10 pesos)
The attendant
who will collect your ticket at the front of the bus. All seats are
numbered and reserved.
This is a luxury, air-conditioned bus, with independent restrooms for men and
women. The attendant who took your ticket will, at the start of your trip,
offer you a choice of soft drinks, water or coffee. (They usually have Diet Coke
- in Mexico called Coke Lite - but you will have to ask for it.) These
refreshments are free of any additional charge. Videos are shown on several
monitors throughout the bus, although you are likely to arrive in Cuernavaca
before the movie ends.
Sit back, relax, enjoy the movie, the view or take a nap. This trip generally
takes about one hour and forty minutes, depending on traffic.
